I love this month. November is by far one of my favorite months of the year because of what it signifies for me. Gratitude, reflection, and newness is what I think of when this time around comes. It’s full of festivities and fun. It’s like a celebrating a new year for me.
Way before January 1 hits I feel like I, in fact, do start a new year. I celebrate my wedding anniversary and my birthday this month. Of course, we also have our national holiday Thanksgiving. These days of celebration give me a fresh start, a fresh hope to be and do things better than I did before.
This is usually time to be thankful. But this is also a time to be reflective of God’s faithfulness and what to look forward to in the future ahead.
Let’s Talk about October
I didn’t really care for the month of October much. In fact, October is my least favorite month. But God has taught me some serious lessons and truths about who He is and what I’m up against spiritually as I follow Him. I’m learning to sharpen and up my praise and worship arsenal as the days become more cold and dark. I’m definitely going to need these lessons from last month if I’m going to triumph in this month and beyond.
My husband and I got hit pretty hard with the spiritual attacks. Seems like enemy wanted to come for our finances and for some reason our health in numerous ways. But it’s by the grace and strength of God that we were able to band together and fight. Additionally, it was only by God that we were able to get through victorious.
Looking Ahead In This Month
I want to make this a November to remember. Spending more quality time with God is definitely on my list this month. And no, I’m not trying to sound like a Christian cliché. This is going beyond the quick Bible reading and praying.
Quality time with God means unplugging from some things for a little bit (social media is definitely on the list) and plugging into His presence. I will still continue to blog but will be significantly less active on apps like Facebook and Instagram.
Life is shifting and I feel this tugging in my spirit where God wants my attention.
I anticipate on being even more present and giving some quality time to family and friends this month. Also, practicing more praise and worship into my everyday life. I foresee this month to be a bright month despite all of the craziness that seems to be happening. Though faint, I also see God doing or setting the stage for some healing, mending, and restoration within my family this year.
2020 has been an extremely difficult year in for everyone. For many, downright devastating. However, I believe that God in His faithfulness can still continue to bless abundantly even in the midst of heart wrenching and painful hardship. And right now, if I can be honest, I could use a bright month in a dark year.
So with God’s help, I’m entering this month with thankfulness and embracing all that’s to come. I’m excited for what’s to come, the growth that’s to occur, and the harvest of what’s promised to me in this season.
Are you embracing November? What are you looking forward to God doing this month?
